Now cloud-computing technologies are a key tool for the development of engineering. They can change the traditional model of the organization of production and serve as a basis for in-plant intelligent computer networks. The paper contains SWOT analysis and considers the limitations and advantages associated with applying cloud computing in industrial automation. Important tips for enterprises that plan to use cloud IT services are given. A methodology of decision-making support in selecting cloud IT services for implementation by an enterprise is proposed. Software to evaluate the advantages of applying cloud technologies in industrial enterprise applications was developed.
