The interdependence of the chemical and biological properties of peat is demonstrated using a raised bog peat deposit as an example. It is proposed that the assessment of peat resources based on a wide range of chemical and biological properties will allow one to expand the areas of application of peat preparations in various fields of biology, medicine, and agriculture.
