The paper deals with a comprehensive experimental study of the friction process dynamics in sliding on bulk ultrafine-grained and coarse-grained materials. Aluminum Al-Zn-Mg-Cu alloy was used as a model sample. Ultrafinegrained structure was formed by the method of equal-channel angular pressing. In the process of dry sliding friction, the magnitude of the coefficient of friction, vibration acceleration amplitude signals, and acoustic emission signals were recorded. The influence of the ECAP pass number on the friction dynamics has been established. Correlations between the average amplitude of vibration acceleration, the friction coefficient and the acoustic emission amplitude have been established and considered.
