It was shown that rather low wear intensity of sintered graphite-containing composites was achieved in the self-lubrication mode under the influence of electric current in sliding against the copper counterbody. Composites were based on bearing steel, obtained from grinding wastes. The composites were sintered in air medium being protected by graphite powder. It was noted that a change in the concentration of graphite or copper in the primary structure of the composites had little effect on the characteristics of the contact. It was found that the main influence on the contact behavior was due to the oil amount on the sliding surface. It was concluded that long-term contact can be realized if the composite has an open pore space.
