It was shown that the increase in sliding contact pressure on AISI steel 1020/AISI steel 1045 couple under unlubricated sliding led to improved wear resistance and electrical conductivity. It was found that the temperature under the worn surface of the sample changed according to a quasilinear law. The average contact temperature did not exceed 250°С and decreased with the increasing contact pressure within the current density range of 150-700 A/cm{2} . Optical images of both transfer layer on the counterbody and tribolayer on the sample were presented. The tribolayer consisted mainly of FeO, [alpha]-Fe (BCC-Fe) and [gamma]-Fe (FCC-Fe). The increase in pressure resulted in the [gamma]-Fe content grow in the tribolayer.
