This article describes the process of teaching students with disabilities and special needs foreign languages and different subjects by means of virtual learning environment provided by educational institution or by the teacher himself. We also consider the specificity of such environment and indicate recommendations for the use of remote resources for educating students and developing their foreign language learning competence and other subject competences necessary for the further student’s development and socialization. The article covers the dependence of the learning perspectives and educational results on the level of disorder development. Listening and visual difficulties often cause misunderstanding and discontinuity in receiving subject data and retrieving professional information. The same disorders harden the students’ activity in commercial sphere when they start up the career. Virtual learning environment can help to adapt the disabled students to the social community, real-time communication and professional activity. Thus they can feel themselves more integrated into the learning process.
Despite many researches on disorders and use of virtual tools of teaching the educational interaction with disabled students is still under discussion and proceeds to cause some difficulties of different nature to educators. We offer to develop not a different IT system but another approach to information transfer and educational organization to attract the disabled student’s strong sides on the level of a high school. It’s stated that the university curriculum pays more attention to the self-guided work and less to the in-class activity. Using the distant foreign language tools we attain the increase of student’s motivation, their engagement in on-line and in-class communication, the development of their visual, listening and speech abilities. According to the long-time research results 87% of students previously not being able to communicate now show a better ability to perceive the given information and express ideas in different ways using more various language means not only in foreign language but also in native language.
