| Summary: | Title screen The article presents the results of humic acid macromolecule study based on the instrumental approaches. Humic acids were extracted from various types of peat (0-20 cm) found within the Western Siberia. The obtained results provide insight into the structure and composition of peat humic acids. The obtained results definitely indicate that elemental composition, thermodynamic stability, and NMR13? spectrometry of humic acids are basically a consequence of their physico-chemical properties which, in its turn, depend on the type of peat, its botanical composition, decomposition degree, and peat-forming conditions. The revealed peculiar character of humic acids extracted from upper layers of peat significantly enriches the humification theory with the experimental data on the process of humic acid macromolecule formation from decomposed organic matter. The differences in thermogram contours, NMR13? spectrometry, and elemental composition of sphagnum peat, sedge peat, and woody peat were identified. The findings of the current study contributed to the solution of one of the most critical humic acid problems - to prove the link between the structure of humic acids and their forming conditions.
