Summary:Title screen
The composition, structure, reflection spectra, and radiation stability of BaTiO3 coatings obtained by the detonation spraying method were investigated for the first time. Samples were characterized by using X-ray diffraction (XRD), high resolution scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and a spectrophotometry. It has been found that other compounds during spraying do not form, except BaTiO3. The coatings from BaTiO3 powder with thickness up to 300 μm were formed on aluminum alloy substrates. It has been found that the reflectance in the visible and near infrared region of the spectrum of these coatings is comparable with the reflectivity of BaTiO3 powders. The radiation stability of the sprayed coatings is much higher in comparison with the compressed BaTiO3 powders and paints based on them. The radiation stability increasing of detonation coating in comparison with two other types of coatings is defined by regularity of absorption centers formation on the surface. The detonation spraying allows to get reflective smart coatings based on BaTiO3 powders needed for thermal stabilization of spacecraft and other objects.
