| Summary: | Title screen The paper proposes a method of programmed trajectory motion control (PTMC) for power system dynamics. The proposed method ensures the required response of a controlled system to external disturbances and thus reduces the time of achievement of the control goal. When applied to a synchronous machine, PTMC allows coordinated control of rotor angle, cycling frequency and acceleration and their simultaneous driving to the target values. Place of PTMC in control systems hierarchy and in relation to model predictive control is discussed. The programmed trajectory motion method is intended for control of power system transient dynamics that cannot be handled by model predictive control or for the cases when optimality of the control process is predominated by the speed requirements and when the control should be rather rational than optimal. Capabilities of the proposed method are studied based on the task of distributed generation synchronization with the main grid. It is showed that PTMC makes possible to meet high requirements to synchronization conditions in isolated grids even in case of disturbances.
