In addition to antiinflammatory and analgesic activity, pyrazolones are known to possess antiviral activity [6-8]. Continuing this work, we have obtained some derivatives of antipyrine and 4- aminoantipyrine, and examined their antiviral spectrum of activity. In terms of their chemical structures, the compounds examined may be divided into the following groups: antipyrylamides of aliphatic aminoacids (I-XI), antipyryl- and isopropyl antipyrylamides of iodinated aromic carboxylic acids (XII-XX), 4-iodo- and 4-bromoantipyrine (XXI, XXII) and 4-formylantipyrine (XXIII), and derivatives of 4-formylantipyrine(XXIV, XXIX). ( 1 - Phenol-2,3-dimethyl-4-R- 5-pyrazolone).
