One of the priorities of the National Research Tomsk Polytechnic University is the training of bachelors, masters and specialists with general cultural and professional competences for the implementation of professional activities on the basis of bilingual education taking into account the priorities of the development of science and education, one of which is "Energy, energy efficiency, nuclear energy". It is known that blended learning refers to a strategic and systematic approach to combining times and modes of learning, integrating the best aspects of face-to-face and online interactions for each discipline, using appropriate information and communications technologies [1-3]. This paper deals with the use of blended learning model in teaching discipline “Methods of obtaining pure substances” in English, which refers to a professional module of the program “Chemical Technology of Materials in Modern Power Engineering”. The elements of the blended learning, the strategy for the organization of educational process and the learning activities plan were studied. Technologically the implementation of e-learning component will be realized through Learning Management System Moodle. The use of information technology tools complements traditional teaching. The obvious advantages of using blended learning model can save time and effort, reducing the time spent on preparing for classroom work and increasing the quality of students training. The description of learning activities and the chosen form of the process organization were described in details. For the each kind of activity the levels of Bloom's taxonomy were defined. The advantages of the blended learning model in teaching laboratory works for engineering students were demonstrated
