| Summary: | Title screen This paper summarizes the investigated results of the laws of localization and fragmentation of plastic deformation in aluminum monocrystals with different orientation of the compression axis and side edges. It was established that at different scale levels, the wide element spectrum of the deformation relief is formed: deformation strips, deformation folds and shear traces. The morphological similarity of the typical deformation relief elements in the investigated monocrystals was established. The quantitative characteristics of the shear trace patterns on the three scale levels were measured using optical, scanning and transmission electron microscopy (using replicas). Such characteristics as the distance between the nearest traces in the shear systems ([delta]Х), the shear trace thickness and the shear power (P) were measured; the shear value (gamma) was determined; the monocrystal volume fraction (delta) was estimated, where the shear took place on the macro-, meso- and microlevels in a definite shear system.. The statistical analysis of shear traces pattern in aluminum monocrystals with different crystallographic characteristics shows that changes mostly at the microscale level contribute to shear deformation.
