Teachers are under constant pressure to innovate, to update their knowledge in their field, and to improve students’ test scores. Teacher frustration and emotional burnout may be caused by too high a workload, a lack of appreciation for their efforts, and ineffective management. The authors studied the phenomenon and causes of emotional burnout. They researched the burnout syndrome among university teachers with over 20 years of teaching experience, by using a short questionnaire. And they provide recommendations for further studies.
