| Summary: | Title screen Thermal inspection has become a recognized NDT tool in the aero space; however, practical surveys still remain rather qualitative. This is conditioned by a lack of basic research aiming to establish quantitative relationships between defect severity and chosen decision making parameters. Therefore, an evident modern trend in thermal NDT is the data processing in the time/phase domains where many noise factors can be considerably subdued. In this study, the emphasis is made on the development of two types of quantitative thermal NDT techniques: mapping thermal inertia (one-sided procedure) and thermal diffusivity (two-sided procedure). |
