We presented some features of TiB 2 layers crystal structure. Layers were generated on carbonaceous steels S20 and U8A with use reactionary daub containing the titan oxide, a boron and carbon. Layers have been received at pulse and continuous action electron beam processing in vacuum. Properties and a structure of layers depending on a way of formation are compared. Conditions of initiation of process of a self-extending high-temperature synthesis and electron beam surfacing its products are analyzed and compared.
