Experimental data on the thermal treatment of low-grade stock in Tomsk oblast are reported. The material balances and the characteristics of the main products were obtained. A thermal engineering process for the conversion of low-grade stock into composite solid fuel was proposed. The process parameters of the drying of composite fuel and the possibility of waterproofing by the supporting of pyrolytic tar onto its surface were studied. The optimum parameters of the supporting of pyrolytic tar were found in order to ensure complete fuel waterproofing.
