The ossteointegration rate of titanium dental implants is related to their composition and surface roughness. Implants with rough surface favor both bone anchoring and biomechanical stability. Osteoconductive calcium phosphate (CaP) coatings promote bone healing and apposition, leading to the rapid biological fixation of the implants. The aim of this study was to investigate the influence of Ti (1cm x 1cm2) surface modifications prior Ag-containing hydroxyapatite (Ag-HA) coating deposition (0,39-0,52 µm) on the topography (SEM, roughness, ellipsometric measurements) and, mechanical (nano hardness test) and physicochemical properties (XRD, EDX and contact angle measurment) of the surfaces. Two types of samples were prepared by sand-blasting (SB) with 250-320 ?m Al2O3 particles at different pressures (P1=0,45 MPа and P2=0,61 MPа). After that all the samples were acid etched (AE) using 1ml HF + 2 ml HNO3 + 2,5ml H2O solution.
