The article describes the micro-hydro-electric station with rectifier ballast load. The station operates on some equivalent load consisting of payload and ballast. To improve the stabilization of electric energy parameters we propose to use the controlled systems that are based on gate commutated thyristors or power transistors. Such systems allow the independent control of the amplitude and phase of the fundamental harmonic current ballast. The result is stabilization of the value and power factor of the resulting equivalent load station and, accordingly, the value and frequency of the generated voltage micro-hydro power station. Numerical simulation of operating modes of micro-hydroelectric station was conducted. Value and power factor of the effective load of the station varied over a wide range. Possibility of simultaneous control of both active and reactive components of resultant load of micro-hydroelectric station with stabilization system based on fully controlled rectifiers was established. In the range of the most typical loads for micro-hydroelectric station application it was proposed to use active-inductive ballast with power factor of 0.8, which module corresponds to rated power of generator.
