Treatment of industrial and household waste water with the pulse electron accelerator-based setup

The results of the operation of the pilot setup on treating the industrial and household waste water have been reported. The given setup is developed on the basis of the “Astra-M” high-current nanosecond pulse-frequency electron accelerator (475 keV electron energy, 10 J ejected beam energy of, 75 ns half-amplitude pulse duration, 40 pps pulse repetition rate). The purpose for the development of the setup is treatment and disinfection of the waste water according to the requirements for Sanitary and Epidemiologic Rules and Regulations (SanPiN) for the treated water dumping to the surface basins of fish household purpose or to the terrain. The pilot setup comprises the following technological units: an aerator, a coagulator and a mechanical filter, the “Astra-M” pulsed electron accelerator, and the “Delta-123” ion-exchanging module. The waste water for testing was brought from the industrial zone Volodino, linear production controls of gas main pipelines (LPCGMP) LLC “Gazprom Transgas Tomsk”. The results of the chemical and bacteriological analyses of the treated waste water with the pilot setup demonstrates a significant decrease in the degree of the bacterial contamination and in the concentration of the chemical substances standardized for the waste water.
