Представлены принципы разработки содержания обучения иностранному языку, обоснован выбор дидактического инструментария; обозначены организационно-педагогические условия формирования профессиональных компетенций студентов в процессе обучения иностранному языку The foreign language teaching in the article is considered as a process able to influence the effective development of students’ competences. The principles to design the content of the discipline have been proposed and the choice of didactic tools has been explained. Due to the theoretical and practical findings a set of key competences for IT students as a target group has been defined.
