Summary:	Заглавие с экрана The history of the formation of the department goes back to the distant forties, but a new stage began with the training of specialists in the field of uranium geology. There is a transformation of the structure and name of the department, but the graduation of uranium geologists, and then geoecologists with knowledge of radioecology issues continues. The great merit of L. P. Rikhvanov is in the opening of new directions of the department on radioactive topics. With his participation, detailed mineralogical and geochemical studies using modern nuclear physics methods and developed on the basis of the research nuclear reactor of the Tomsk Polytechnic University began to prevail. The methods of radiographic analysis have been mastered, which make it possible to determine both the level of accumulation and the distribution of radioactive elements with high accuracy. During these years, radiogeochemical research methods made possible to solve not only geological, but also environmental and technological problems.
