The article is devoted to the development of the labor market and changes in trends in the movement of the Russian economy, which requires careful study and consideration of such changes in the educational programs of the university. The trends occurring in these markets are triggers in forecasting demand and the formation of customer needs, orient the production of educational services towards training, and retraining of specialists in demand on the labor market. The modern labor market was formed in the context of the reforming of the Russian economy and continues to experience the negative impact of the current socioeconomic crisis caused by the pandemic and resulting in a decline in the industrial sector and agriculture, a decrease in labor demand, and an increase in total and registered unemployment. All this undoubtedly requires changes in the professional retraining of specialists providing services in industrial and social spheres.
