Sensor consists of thin-layer chromatography plate modified by polyhexamethylene guanidine and chromogenic reagent Ferron. The measurement procedure is simple, rapid and can be performed as on-site analysis. Solid phase sensor coupled with diffuse reflectance spectrophotometry has been used to monitor iron (III) in water samples in the 0.5-5.0 mg/dm{3} range. Results are in good agreement with solution spectrophotometry. |
