The paper employs the notion of functions as the main activity of the system to generalize the analysis for any system - innovation, economic, social ones. The author draws distinctions between institutions and organizations to present institutional mapping as an important institutional analysis tool. Institutional profiles build on the basis of functions performed by the economic, social or innovation system allows to be better equipped to identify and tackle system failures. |
