The purpose of this article is to present a general theoretical treatment that can be used to set up the dipole moment operator into a form that is convenient to evaluate transition moment (000) to (001) on the type of 32S16O2 and 34S16O2 molecules. Symmetry considerations and method of effective Hamiltonians are used to give the most general form for the expansion of the transformed dipole moment for an SO2-type molecule. As a result of this calculation, the first three constants involved in the expansion of the transformed transition moment operators have been obtained.
