A new combined algorithm for R peaks detection on ECG is described. The algorithm is based on already known Pan-Tompkins and Murthy-Rangaraj methods and combines the advantages of the both. The given processing approach provides high sensitivity, good computational performance (as well as low order) and excellent interference immunity. Proposed method was designed for personal ECG recorders, where interference performance could be critical, but also could be applies in any ECG systems.
