The paper presents results of developing a system of graded performance objectives for the level of student training in the course of physics for degrees and majors in the engineering and technology fields employing the competence-based approach, which complements the traditional learning process and facilitates students’ use of the acquired systemic knowledge and skills in practical engineering. The objectives matrix for the level of training in physics is complimented with completion criteria corresponding to a certain level of mastery for each content unit. The developed criteria take into account requirements from major disciplines. The adopted structure of objectives for the level of training in physics takes into account the graded hierarchy of modules according to their contents, and includes the decomposition of course outcomes into knowledge, skills and experience of applying them in the modules of the physics course within the term as well as throughout the term-to-term progress. The integrated competences (knowledge, skills, and experiences) from this list have been formulated for each of the specified curriculum groups (clusters).
