|a This article is about operational risks, namely about risk of insurance fraud and the way of assessment of it. The operational risks don't have standard definition in general sense it is inevitable expenses of business. For insurance branch the most important kind of operational risks is risk of insurance fraud. Companies don't have information about all facts of insurance fraud, that's why it's hard to use statistic methods. The best way of assessment of the risk of insurance fraud is based on Bayesian networks. Bayesian networks allow to consider not only dependences of a risk level on risk factors, but also dependences between risk factors. The assessment is carried out separately for each of couples of variables between which the hidden interrelation. According to the estimated quantities of losses, suspicious on fraud existence, among total of losses, criteria of suspiciousness are formed The fact of fraud is confirmed only at the decision the loan, however, criteria will help to make internal investigations and to prevent this fact.
