In this work the chemical composition of organic and inorganic samples was determinedusing the atomic method of atomic emission spectroscopy. As the organic specimens hair samplesfrom a 19 year-oldwoman and 58 year-old man were taken. Samples of coal and wood were used as inorganic specimens. Spectral lines were normalized tothe intensity ratio in order to reduce the measurement error, which arose from the instability of thearc discharge, that's why the electrode was heated.
