Summary:A new laboratory technique is presented for fast determination of the specific impulse of solid rocket propellants (SRPs), based on the measurement of recoil force of gasification products flowing from the burning surface of solid propellants. The values of specific impulse for the model composite solid propellant are obtained while varying the pressure in the combustion chamber.
