Summary:The paper discusses advantages and disadvantages of the main diagnostic methods that are used at present to inspect reinforced concrete supports of the contact network at railroads of Russia. The investigation results are presented to show the efficiency of the acoustic method of free oscillations that can be used for this purpose. The authors describe the main reasons and types of damages of reinforced concrete supports of the contact network. the main reason is corrosion of metal components.
