Sumari:The results of an experimental investigation of the breakdown of a narrowed waveguide section by high-power microwave pulses of nanosecond duration at pressures of 6. 5 multiplied by 10**3-10**5 Pa are presented. The pulse has a triangular shape, a 100-nsec base-line duration, a peak power of 22 MW and a frequency of 2. 88 GHz. Data are obtained that show that pulses with a power of Pulse equals 50 MW can be transmitted in a standard waveguide at atmospheric pressure
