Zusammenfassung:Gives a comprehensive and simple treatment to the study of reliability which is considered essential for the correct utilisation and maintenance of engineering equipments and systems. The book introduces the basic concepts of reliability and quality and then discusses the various modes and causes of failure. Also included are important topics like probability theory, reliability characteristics of components, m-order systems, frequency and duration concepts to determine the parameters of repairable systems. New techniques are suggested to deal with different kinds of stress-hazard models. The book contains a discussion on the hierarchical system; reliability and cost models are illustrated. Two chapters focus on the management and economics of reliability engineering, and reliability and utility cost models.
