This article highlights the issue of destruction of pump-compressor pipe’s metal equipped in the deposit of Western Siberia. The research demonstrates the disposition to corrosive cracking and destruction of material of pump-compressor’s pipe made of low-alloyed “32G2” steel when used in the deposit water containing hydrogen sulfide. Based on the analysis of the structure and elemental composition of the steel in the fracture zone the article describes the process of corrosive metal cracking. In addition, there is a catastrophic effect of dynamic loads during operation of drilling equipment in hostile environments. The article may be useful in the development of the chemical composition of steels used in oil and gas industry.
