The waveguide hybrid as an arrangement for energy extraction in resonant microwave compressors was studied. In particular the results of theoretical analysis of the hybrid operation and experimental data obtained for X-band compressors with energy extraction through the hybrid were presented. It was shown that under some conditions the hybrid can provide a two-fold increase of the compressor output power in comparison with the energy extraction through a waveguide tee.
