Kinetic laws of cationic polymerization of 9-vinylcarbazole under the influence of Ph3C+Al(C2H5)2Cl2- in a solution CHCl3 at 20 °С have been studied. Kinetic of the process was studied by setting the stopped flow method with recording in IR region. The behavior of the studied system corresponds to the model of «quasi-alive» polymerization. It is supposed that the most probable type of active particles is solvate separated ion pairs. The efficient value of circuit growth constant is calculated
